I’m hoping I’ve thought of everything and we are prepared. Only time will tell. We’re in the midst of rain, rain and more rain. The ground is well and truly soaked so now we have over-flowing dams, over-flowing tanks and over-flowing road crossings. It looks as if we could be flooded in for a wee little while.
Moving here in the drought, we were a little incredulous when the old-timers told us in good times, there are always a few days a year when you can’t get in or out. Last year we experienced being flooded in for the first time. When it’s only a few days, it’s not bad being stuck at home and the kids aren’t complaining that they can’t get school.
Oops, I’ve just realised I forgot to get more loo paper. Oh well, I was almost prepared!
Hope all is well in your part of the world,
Alison xxx

Got any old phone books, or even some old flanellette sheets?? Hope all goes OK… it is a very consistent rain, isn’t it!
Consistent, persistent, wet! When will it stop? Thanks for the ideas, I think I’ll start calling you my ‘ideas’ girl! Alison
I do hope that any hassles are temporary Alison. That first photo makes it all look very romantic though
Hi Kerry, we’ve even lit the wood fire which makes it all lovely and cosy. Just hoping the wind stays away as we have some very waterlogged old trees around. In the big rain last year a couple fell over (part of the impetus for removing so many). Alison
This is Australia, its ridiculous how contrary our climate can be. Hope your garden is lapping it up and you can do nothing but enjoy the outcome. Hope you have a good book to read.
Hi Deb, I like the phrase, contrary climate! The garden can’t lap anymore up and I have given up on getting a crop of tomatoes, all split! Oh well, next year. Alison
hope you’re all ok. About three years ago we had a winter where it rained for almost three months – solidly. I remember only one day of sunshine. We had to put planks of wood over the driveway just so we could walk out of the house. Best thing – light the fire and watch some good films!
Stay dry Alison xx
Hope it’s not getting too bad your way, Alison.
